SAB’s World of Beer in Newtown has received a R20 million injection that makes it one of the most cutting-edge branded visitor attractions in the world, rivalling the famous Guinness Hopstore in Dublin and the new acclaimed UK Wembly Stadium Visitor Experience.Today visitors to the relaunched World of Beer face a treasure house of striking new visual and aural experiences about the history of beer and the art of brewing whilst they take a fascinating journey through time to view the evolution of beer making methods. The SAB world of beer was launched in 1995 to mark the 100th Anniversary of the South African Breweries and was officially opened by former President Nelson Mandela.
Now 12 years later. SAB had deemed the time ripe to upgrade the centre at a cost of R20 million. New state of the art technologies give it a “world-class feel” which makes it, according to SAB World of Beer General Manager Frank Johnson, “one of the best facilities in the world in terms of fun, technology, information and the wow experience.”
